OneSkin Review: Does It Reverse The Skin Aging Clock?

OneSkin Review: Does It Reverse The Skin Aging Clock?

If you are looking for a way to improve your skin health and appearance, you may have heard of OneSkin, a line of skin longevity treatment products that claim to extend skin health on a molecular level. But what is OneSkin, how does it work, and is it worth trying? In this OneSkin review, we will answer these questions and more, based on our research and analysis of the product, its ingredients, its benefits, and its customer feedback.

What is OneSkin?

OneSkin is a brand that offers skincare products like its OS-01 face lotion and OS-01 body lotion. These products are designed to target the root cause of skin aging: cellular senescence. Cellular senescence is the process by which cells stop dividing and become dysfunctional, accumulating in the skin and other tissues over time. Senescent cells can cause inflammation, oxidative stress, and tissue damage, leading to signs of aging such as wrinkles, sagging, and age spots.

OneSkin claims to have developed a proprietary peptide, called OS-01, that can selectively remove senescent cells from the skin, without harming healthy cells. By doing so, they’re “reversing skin’s biological age”. OneSkin aims to restore the skin’s natural ability to regenerate, repair, and rejuvenate itself, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.  They want to increase your skin’s longevity.

How does OneSkin OS-01 work?

OneSkin works by applying the OS-01 peptide to the skin, where it penetrates the outer layer and reaches the deeper layers where senescent cells reside. The peptide then binds to a specific protein on the surface of senescent cells, called p16, which is a marker of cellular aging. By binding to p16, the peptide triggers a process called apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in senescent cells, causing them to self-destruct and be cleared away by the immune system.

This reduces the number of senescent cells in the skin and allows the remaining healthy cells to function better and produce more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which are essential for skin structure, elasticity, and hydration.

OneSkin claims that its products can deliver visible results in as little as four weeks and that the effects can last for up to six months after discontinuing use. The brand also claims that its products are safe, gentle, and suitable for all skin types, as they do not contain any harsh chemicals, fragrances, or preservatives.

What makes it different?

I was listening to a podcast where one of their PhD inventors was talking about how it wasn’t a typical moisturizer.  They think of it as a supplement for your skin.  Just like you take supplements in pill form or in your smoothies, this is topical and it’s for your skin health.  Its main objective is to improve skin health and longevity — which, of course, they know just happens to improve skin cosmetically too!

What are the benefits of OneSkin?

According to OneSkin, its products can offer the following benefits for the skin:

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve skin texture and firmness
  • Enhance skin brightness and evenness
  • Hydrate and nourish the skin
  • Protect the skin from environmental stressors
  • Support skin health and longevity

OneSkin also states that its products can have positive effects on other aspects of health and wellness, such as mood, energy, and cognition, by reducing the systemic burden of senescent cells in the body.

What are the customer reviews of OneSkin?

OneSkin has received mostly positive reviews from customers who have tried its products. On its website, OneSkin has a 4.8 out of 5-star rating, based on 67 reviews. Most customers report that they have noticed improvements in their skin quality, such as reduced wrinkles, increased firmness, and enhanced glow. Some customers also mention that they have experienced benefits in their mood, energy, and mental clarity. A few customers, however, have not seen any significant changes in their skin, or have experienced some minor irritation or dryness.

On other platforms, such as Amazon and Trustpilot, OneSkin has a 4.4 out of 5 star rating, based on 25 reviews. Again, most customers are satisfied with the products and praise their effectiveness, ease of use, and natural ingredients. Some customers, however, complain about the high price, the small size, and the lack of customer service.

My OneSkin Review

Like I said earlier, I heard one of their scientists talking about its creation on a business podcast of all things and I had to have it.  I had to try something that was built around science first and beauty needs second.  So far I like it.  I bought the undereye cream (which is its most potent cream), face lotion, and body lotion.  I noticed a bigger difference with the body lotion.

I felt like I could tell that my arms looked less crepey (I’m still pretty young but in some lights, I can tell I’m definitely aging) and my knees and upper thighs looked a little better.  Would anyone else notice a difference?  Probably not.  But, I’m good with that.  I did stay on the subscription so I could keep using it — which for me says a lot.

Conclusion: Is it worth it?

OneSkin is a unique and innovative product that offers a novel approach to skin rejuvenation and longevity. By targeting cellular senescence, OneSkin aims to address the root cause of skin aging and provide lasting and holistic benefits for the skin and the body. Based on the scientific literature and customer feedback, OneSkin seems to have some evidence and support for its claims and may be worth trying for those who are looking for a cutting-edge and natural solution for their skin concerns.

However, OneSkin is not a miracle product, and it may not work for everyone. The effects of OneSkin may vary depending on the individual’s skin condition, lifestyle, and genetics, and may take some time to show.

OneSkin is a somewhat expensive product, and it may not be affordable for everyone. Therefore, before buying OneSkin, do your own research, consult your dermatologist, and weigh the pros and cons.
